18.03.10: Preliminary proceedings dismissed in favour of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation
Charles Huber’s accusations shown to be unfounded
The public prosecutor’s office for the Munich I court is satisfied that the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation is innocent. The preliminary investigations were dismissed in favour of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation. It has been shown that the accusations made by Charles M. Huber, when he claimed that the Foundation diverted donations and cheated his Afrika Direkt e.V. association of the true volume of donations due to it, were completely unfounded right from the start. The investigation, which was wilfully instigated by Mr. Huber, therefore did not result in a prosecution.
The Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation was also able to take out an injunction to defend itself successfully against Stefan Loipfinger (who runs the charitywatch website) and his accusations, which were also unfounded.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our friends, partners and supporters. In spite of the accusations, which were played out in public thanks to the willing cooperation of some elements of the media, the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation was always able to rely on the trust and support of its friends, partners and supporters.
The transparency and professionalism of the work of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation has proved to be compelling.
